Introduction

Some times it may be more comfortable to use shortcuts for actions to be done in PixInsight. Here are listed the most frequently used that can be of interest. Grouped by menu and at the end a serie of additional ones.

File

• CTRL+O - Open a file
• CTRL+SHIFT+O - Open a copy
• CTRL+S - Save
• CTRL+SHIFT+S - Save as
• CTRL+J - Load Project
• CTRL+SHIFT+J - Save Project
• CTRL+P - Print (Temporarily disabled)
• CTRL+Q - Exit

Edit

• CTRL+C - Copy View to Clipboard
• CTRL+V - New Image form Clipboard

View

• CTRL+ALT+P - Open Process Explorer
• CTRL+ALT+R - Open Format Explorer

Preview

• CTRL + → - To navigate on the image. Next flap
• CTRL + ← - To navigate on the image. Previous
• CTRL+SHIFT+Z - Undo/Redo preview
• CTRL+SHIFT+S - Save preview
• CTRL+R - Reset preview

Mask

• CTRL+M - Apply inverted Mask
• CTRL+SHIFT+I - Invert Mask
• CTRL+SHIFT+M - Enable/Desable Mask
• CTRL+K - Show Mask

Process

• F5 - Apply process
• F6 - Apply process Globally
• CTRL+ALT+I - Open ImageContainer

Script

• F9 - Compile and Run script from Script Editor

Workspace

• ALT+1, ALT+2, ALT+3, ALT+4 etc. Change Workspace
• CTRL+PageDown - Switch Images
• CTRL+End - Send Active Image Windows to Back

Others

• CTRL+SPACEBAR+CLICK - Zoom In - In this mode you can define a rectangular area to approximate the area of the image that will be zoomed in the view
• CTRL+ALT+SPACEBAR+CLICK - Zoom Out
• CTRL with the mouse wheel to Zoom In - Zoom Out on a point
• ALT+P - Pan Mode
• CLICK with te mouse wheel - Pan Mode
• SPACEBAR+CLICK - Pan Mode over an image or over a tool
• CTRL+F - In Process Explorer windows open the browser
• SHIFT - While dragging, for the windows on the back to be on the front
• ALT+SPACEBAR - Change cursor to Zoom In Mode for a tool
• SHIFT+ALT+SPACEBAR - Change cursor to Zoom Out Mode for a tool
• ALT+CLICK - Restoration of PixInsight windows
• ESC - Cancel drag and drop operation while it is been doing
