Sun

Introduction
Publicated in Gallery - Complete description of a Sun image - Main notes: RangeMask to make white the solar flares. Date: Jul 2012.
Processing
The first corp is due to the image is not correctly focused and with stack of 1000 frames in Registax there was not improvements.
After the crop I did a DynamicBackgroundExtraction as is needed a flat background for the next range mask.
I built three different range mask to be used in the next process and name they as RM1, RM2 and RM3
ChannelCombination to built the RGB Image.
Using RM2 to protect background apply HistogramTransformation to give color to the Sun.
Using RM1 to protect background and the sun apply HistogramTransformation (see Midtones) to have the white effect in the corona.
A little noise reduction in the background is needed. I used ACDNR decreasing StdDev to 0,4 and with 6 iterations.
With RM2 protecting the background used UnsharpMask to give details in the surface of the sun. A little Deringing in Dark: 0,15 is needed to protect the intersection between the yellow and the withe in the circumference.
A little more contrast with LocalHistogramEqualization and using RM2 as protection in background.
Signature.
Finally if it is wanted to show some detail as the faintest solar flares can be cropped in a clone the area and then insert the new image using ImageInsert script.
Final image.
