Introduction
Image of Sedat publicated in Image Processing Challenges - Complete description of a RGB image - Main notes: CanonBandingReduction for vertical banding, SCNR and ACDNR, HDRMultiscaleTransform and MultiscaleMedianTransform for details. Date: Apr 2012.
Processing
First a small crop to eliminate black borders.
HistogramEqualization let you see what happens in background. There are gradients and vertical lines.
ABE (AutomaticBackgroundExtractor)
DBE (DynamicBackgroundExtraction)
There are still vertical lines.
For vertical lines rotate 90º and apply CBR (CanonBandingReduction script)
Rotate 90º back and new DynamicBackgroundExtraction.
Whit AberrationInspector create a new image to be used as Reference image in BackgroundNeutralization.
With AberrationInpector create a new image to be used as Reference image in ColorCalibration and a preview of the galaxy as Reference image.
Generate a point spread function with DynamicPSF tool and a Star Mask to be used in Deconvolution, apply protecting stars with star mask.
HistogramTransformation.
Generate a Luminance Mask.
Apply SCNR (without mask)
Apply ACDNR to Chrominance (without mask)
ColorSaturation with Luminance Mask protecting background.
HDRMultiscaleTransform.
HDRMultiscaleTransform.
New starmask to be used with MultiscaleMedianTransform.
MultiscaleMedianTransform protecting stars with starmask.
CurvesTransformation.
CurvesTransformation protecting background with Blue channel.
HistogramTransformation.
MultiscaleMediamTransform.
